Yesterday was our second day of parent-teacher conferences and they lasted forever. We also had to have another SAT meeting for our last student of the night so I was at Belmont from 7:45 am until 8:30 pm. I got home at nine after stopping at the grocery store for a small bottle of Jack. Shona and I both needed a bit of alcohol to recovery and relax last night, so I was drinking my Jack and Coke while I cleaned Wendall's cage and unwound. It was seriously one of the longest nights of my life, but I am so glad I got to meet so many parents. It is nice when you are able to see where a child comes from, it always help to get a better grasp on why a child might then do or say the things that they do. Perfect example from a few posts back: crazy parents equal crazy children usually, and I think we all know that has definitely been proven by certain individuals we know. Luckily, none of my Kindergarten students or their parents are crazy. Ornery, yes, but crazy, no.

I am still really tired today from everything yesterday and last night, because my wonderful boyfriend who I love very much decided he wanted to go to IHOP at around 12:30. I explained over and over I have to wake up early, I should have been asleep two hours ago, blah blah blah. Finally he gives up and goes out to smoke and I fall asleep. Wouldn't you know, about half an hour later I am woken up by loud people in my apartment - something else which I have a lot to say about here shortly - so I decide, screw it, let's go to IHOP (Teetz, you cheated on me and went to IHOP with someone else, so I did the same, but IloveyouImsorry). It is about 1:15 am and I am going to IHOP, great. But we did, and when all was said and done, I was asleep by 2:00ish. I did, however get to sleep in a little bit longer this morning because we had one of our Professional Development Days (also very exciting, something else I have a lot to say about). I really need to get a lot of sleep tonight though, because tomorrow is our field trip to Nebraska City and I can not be dead-tired running around with a group of 20 elementary school kids.

Okay, the roommate situation: is it really so difficult to be respectful of those who need to go to sleep early? I think not. Fuck this shit.
